Artist Statement:
My whale is inspired by a tryptic of the same scene I Illustrated in 2023 with watercolor and ink. This whale was created using a mix of fluid acrylics and Posca paint markers. Unique to this piece is a focus on the sky and clouds rising dramatically behind the harbor.
Artist Biography:
Maura O'Connor is an illustrator and artist based in Central New York. Her husband Kyle is from Marblehead, and they return to visit family and friends in town often. Her stationary line and paper goods can be found across the north shore and online at www.mauraoconnorillustration.com.
