As a Studio Art major at Hobart College, I studied various methods of drawing, printmaking, sculpture, painting, as well as architectural theory and practice. Following college, I pursued training in woodworking, furniture design, and stained glass. The notable theme in my current work is the challenge of restriction. Work within the same design ten times, solid colors only, yellow only, blue only, recycled house paint only, and on. I found the limitations allowed me a pleasing focus in production, and unpredicted visual effects. The eye wants to jump through the paintings. Shapes and pathways emerge, fade, and are replaced by others.
