Artist: Gail Hickey
My name is Gail Hickey. I have been painting and instructing students to paint Funky, Fanciful Furniture for more than 25 years in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire areas. Funky describes the style (including stripes, checks and dots) while Fanciful describes the vibe my students experience by bringing new life to old or new furniture or home accessories whether newly created or rediscovered.
What began as a pastime for my own enjoyment soon developed into a joyful experience for my students AND me at the completion of a project they?ve designed with me and painted themselves.

Gail Hickey is an artist and craftsman who, after many years of vacationing in Harwich Port and Harwich, relocated to the Cape in 2012 from the North Shore of Massachusetts.
Gail has been painting and instructing students to paint ?funky, fanciful furniture? for the past 20 years. In 2000, she began instructing a group of her mother?s friends who live in Jackson, NH in the Mt Washington Valley. Since that time, students have taken part in the group she lovingly calls ?The Jackson Painted Ladies?..
Gail?s workshops have been described as fun, energizing, and even therapeutic sessions that allow all to learn, express and create something they never thought they could accomplish.
