Item Description
Shoes will be worn during WNBA game on August 1st vs. Los Angeles Sparks and autographed postgame. Shoes are size 9 Adidas Harden 9s. Custom sneakers designed and hand painted by artist Takiyah Ward at Re-Sole 206.
These shoes highlight the life and death of Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old Black boy fatally shot and killed while walking in his neighborhood in 2012. Trayvon's death sparked national debate around gun safety and Stand Your Ground laws. The shoe design features Trayvon's name printed in large letters across the outsides of the shoes, and his portrait on each toe, with Wheeler's #17 painted on the insides.
