Item Description
Shoes will be worn on the bench during WNBA game on August 1st vs. Los Angeles Sparks and autographed postgame. Shoes are size 10.5 Nike KD 17 TB P. Custom sneakers designed and hand painted by artist Takiyah Ward at Re-Sole 206.
These shoes highlight the need for improved maternal healthcare, especially for Black and brown women, who are at significantly higher risk during pregnancy and childbirth. The shoe design features a muted rainbow of colorblocks, with portraits of a diverse group of pregnant women across the toe boxes. On the outside of one shoe is printed "Protect Black Mothers" and on the other "Her Life Matters."
Item Special Note
If present in the arena, the winning bidder may pick up the shoes in person from Katie Lou immediately after the game on August 1st. Winners will be emailed immediately upon conclusion of the auction and given instructions on where to meet Storm staff for this opportunity if they are at Climate Pledge Arena. Identification must be provided and payment completed prior to receiving the shoes.
Winners not present in the arena on August 1st may pick up from a Storm staff on a different date, or have the shoes shipped. Please note, shipping fees will be added if you request your item to be shipped.
