Get away for an overnight stay at Waimea, Kauai. This is for a 2 bedroom, Ocean View cottage. History buffs will adore these relocated and refurbished sugar-plantation cottages, which were originally built in the early 1900s. They're now being managed by Coast Hotels. The one- to five-bedroom cottages are tucked among coconut trees along a lovely stretch of coastline on the sunny West Side. (Note that swimming waters here are often murky, but morning and evening strolls on the black sand are special.)

Embrace the spirit of aloha at Waimea Plantation Cottages - an oasis of calm in the heart of one of Kauai's most distinctive regions. Our secluded resort is set on 43 oceanfront acres of lush tropical landscaping. Settle into one of our 59 one-to five-bedroom, authentic, heritage plantation homes which feature garden or ocean views. The cottages were built in the late 1880s to 1930s. Lovingly refreshed, the cottages still retain their rustic charm; each offers a fully equipped kitchen and private lanai.

Cool off with a swim in the oceanfront pool, play lawn games or relax in one of the hammocks around the property.

While not swimmable, our private beach is perfect for walking; wander the two-mile expanse of black sand and feel your worries melt away.

Sample local, seasonal dishes and the island’s tastiest BBQ at Chicken in a Barrel before heading out to explore the area – from the awe-inspiring Waimea Canyon and the Swinging Bridge at Hanapepe to water sports, hiking, cycling and countless other outdoor activities.
