In “Honu Side by Side”, a numbered (11/150) 16” x 20” giclee from an original watercolor by Marcia Minnichhofer, two sea turtles meet at the shoreline. Perhaps they are meeting up in the morning to communicate and plan for another beautiful day in Paradise.
Comes with certificate of authenticity.
Marcia Ishii Minnichhofer (mini-koffer) was born and raised on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Her childhood was spent in Kilauea where her father was the sugar plantation doctor. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and started her career as a special education teacher on Oahu and Kauai. She also spent many years in California as a real estate agent. Marcia enjoyed painting classes and workshops in oil, acrylic, and watercolor media. Creating fine art in watercolor has provided the greatest pleasure and is a good medium for capturing light. She feels that light in a painting is very uplifting to one's spirit. Marcia especially enjoys close-up painting to show the details of tropical flowers. She has also captured local landscapes and loves painting ocean waves in motion, turtles, and koi. Her paintings are available in large and small giclees prints and note cards on this website, in her Etsy shop, PaintingsbyMarcia, and at local craft fairs. Her craft fair schedule is on this website and you can also follow her painting progress at her blog here and on Instagram where she posts as "paintingsbymarcia."
Marcia resides on Kauai and has been passionate about capturing the variety of plumerias and Hawaii flowers. What better place to be painting than in tropical paradise where subject matter is abundant!
